Growing up in Tzaneen has to make it one of the best, most amazing places in my heart. Hence why I live here.
Not because of the great green Valley or the amazing Drakensberg mountains. It's about the friends that we made and kept through out our lives.
Somewhere in our past we knew that we would be together always and so valued our friendships and kept them safe that's why they still as strong today as they were 20 years ago.
I always say to people it's so awesome living here cause every one always comes back for visit.
Just three nights ago, I sat with 5 friends that I have known my whole life one being my sister Tammi Coppen, that's a Good 31 years of friendship and I am only 32 years of age.I remember living in Cape Town and especially London where none of the people I met had had a friend in their lives and still be so close for that period of time.
My one Best Best Friend Lauren Blight, we were best chommies as kids, Traveled to Kenya Madagascar and Russia all before the age of 16, Hit London together after school and then went our special ways. I moved back to my home town about 8 years back and lol joined a couple of years later. I am one of the luckiest people alive to have my best friend living so close by.
Lauren and I found ourselves with the company of Ross Truesdale often enough that he became our third .. making us a trio friendship. Our friendship with Ross is one of those where we don't see him for a year or so and then he visits and it's just like yesterday.
Another amazing set of friends Sarah Pienaar and her brother Clayton Pienaar, all our lives we have been close, Sarah also moved back to Tzaneen to start her family and I believe Clayton is short to follow.
Lauren's sister and my sister also moved back to Tzaneen.
There we all were 30 years later still together still hanging out... WOW!
I suppose we should thank our parents for bringing us up in this small little town. It's gotta be worth it cause we all came back.
The memories that we carry together as friends go beyond what any new friendship could bring.
I was over whelmed the other night in the realization of what we have.
